About Me

My photo
I created this blog to keep everyone updated about how things are going with my GAP year. I left the US on August 26th and returned May 4th. During GAP year I was taking classes in Spanish, theology, evangelism, and missions. I was working in a ministry called Metro, went to a Spanish church called Principe de Paz, and an English church called GGP. In the GAP year program I had the opportunity to be part of a weekly discipleship/small groups with the leaders in Costa Rica. God did great and mighty things in my life!! I am learned so much and I am falling more in love with Jesus, His word, and His people everyday! I would love it if you would continue to pray for me. Thanks for all of your support!

Questions anwsered

Joshua Tomlin: Have you met your true love?

I do not believe so, but who knows maybe I have and don't know it yet. Time will tell!

Myra May Vance: What is your favorite Spanish word?

Quizás because it sounds funny.

Savannah Holsten: Who's your favorite roommate?

You know I could beat around the bush and say I love them all equally, but instead I will directly answer it and say Myra is my favorite roommate.

Dan Everman: (1) Compare/contrast/describe the people that you have met and ministered to in Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Mexico, the DR, Atlanta, Harland County and Madison County;

I was don't know a whole lot about the people in the DR, Panama, Mexico, or Nicaragua because I was only in these countries for a few days. I am better able to compare the people of the states with the people from Costa Rica. I am going to clump the different places where I have went on missions trips in the states and the people from the other countries that I have been to because they have many similarities.

People from the states seem to be more task oriented, have a quicker pace of life, and are more time oriented. We have more of a middle class in our society. We are richer over all. People from Latin America countries (mainly talking about Costa Rica) seem to be more relational, have a slower pace in life and relax more, and are more event oriented. The living conditions of the people in other countries is very different. There is more of an extreme between the rich and poor and the poor live in very very bad conditions. They seem to have larger families.

(2) then select which group was most in need of hearing the message of sin, Savior and Love explain why you chose that particular group of people as being most needy of hearing the Gospel.

This is so hard for me to say because of course all people are in equal need of hearing the gospel. All of us need Christ, but what I think you are saying may be which group of people have not heard the gospel the least. Honestly I am not sure. I would hate to just say a place. There is need for Jesus equally in every place. The people with no hope or are in desperate situations are sometimes more open to Jesus though cause they see a need for Jesus. When everything seems good in your life it's harder for people for realize they need Jesus.

Don't quote me on my answers, but I tried just for you all! If you would like to ask more questions feel free. Love you all!
