We stand in awe of the ocean,
The thunderstorm,
The sunset,
The mountains;
But pass by
A human being
Without notice
Even though
The person
Is God's most
Magnificent
Creation.
Augustine
It can be so easy to look at the ocean, the sky, and the trees and stand amazed at the beauty, but I find it's not so easy to look at the homeless man on the street that smells like beer and see beauty. Or the prostitue with dirty ragity clothes on and see beauty. God has broken my heart because I do this exact thing. God calls us to love the unloveable and there is beauty in every human being because they are made in the image of God. So instead of ignoring the poor desperate people around you pray for them and try to image yourself in their shoes. Start a conversation with them. How are you going to show Christ's love to them if you look the other way when they come near you so you don't feel uncomfortable? I think it's time we stop ignoring and start making relationships and caring more about others then if we feel uncomfortable or not.
Jesus change me heart to see people the way you see them. Amen

About Me
- Desiree Johnson
- I created this blog to keep everyone updated about how things are going with my GAP year. I left the US on August 26th and returned May 4th. During GAP year I was taking classes in Spanish, theology, evangelism, and missions. I was working in a ministry called Metro, went to a Spanish church called Principe de Paz, and an English church called GGP. In the GAP year program I had the opportunity to be part of a weekly discipleship/small groups with the leaders in Costa Rica. God did great and mighty things in my life!! I am learned so much and I am falling more in love with Jesus, His word, and His people everyday! I would love it if you would continue to pray for me. Thanks for all of your support!
