Youth group here in Costa Rica is on Saturday evenings. One night at my church's youth group I had just met a young lady I hadn't seen before so I introduced myself and learned her name was Maria. I told her I liked her bracelet. Well actually I said I like then pointed to her bracelet. haha She took it off and let me look at it. I looked at it then gave it back, but she wanted me to keep it. I thought it was so sweet! I had literally just met her and knew nothing about her except her name when she gave me this beautiful bracelet. Now this is one of my most treasured possessions that I have with me here in Costa Rica. Even though I don't know very much Spanish at all I am trying to build relationships and only by God's grace and love have I been doing just that! I am so thankful for all of the blessings that surround me.

About Me
- Desiree Johnson
- I created this blog to keep everyone updated about how things are going with my GAP year. I left the US on August 26th and returned May 4th. During GAP year I was taking classes in Spanish, theology, evangelism, and missions. I was working in a ministry called Metro, went to a Spanish church called Principe de Paz, and an English church called GGP. In the GAP year program I had the opportunity to be part of a weekly discipleship/small groups with the leaders in Costa Rica. God did great and mighty things in my life!! I am learned so much and I am falling more in love with Jesus, His word, and His people everyday! I would love it if you would continue to pray for me. Thanks for all of your support!
