I would first of all just like to apologize for not writing as much as I should. Sometimes it's hard when the wifi isn't that great. Anyways here are some things going on in GAP currently.
We all just came back from different camps that we went to for a week which was a great experience.
We just finished Cultural Critic class in Bible class that was amazing.
We have parents week in 2 weeks.
In my small group we are going through the book Seeking Him which I think is going to be great.
We are going to Nicaragua in a few weeks.
Praises
I am falling more in love with Jesus.
LeAnn a student in GAP went to the hospital for a really bad cough and was sick for a long time and is now doing much better with the medicine they gave her.
Me and the other people in my ministry Metro are really beginning to build relationship with the kids we minister too.
Prayer Requests
As it may always seem people are sick and not feeling well in the villa.
My pastor and Bible teacher John and his family are moving back to the states. So pray for their transition back and that they find a good church to plug into and they find a house.
For my plans for the future (and everyones in GAP) and for me to be doing what God wants me to do.
For all of us in GAP not to become impatient and unloving to one another as we continue to get to know each other better.
For God to bring people to fill the leader positions that need to be filled for next year.
For God to bring in students for next years GAP year.
For me to get all the money I still need for the rest of my GAP year raised.
I can't thank you enough for your prayers they truly make a difference.

About Me
- Desiree Johnson
- I created this blog to keep everyone updated about how things are going with my GAP year. I left the US on August 26th and returned May 4th. During GAP year I was taking classes in Spanish, theology, evangelism, and missions. I was working in a ministry called Metro, went to a Spanish church called Principe de Paz, and an English church called GGP. In the GAP year program I had the opportunity to be part of a weekly discipleship/small groups with the leaders in Costa Rica. God did great and mighty things in my life!! I am learned so much and I am falling more in love with Jesus, His word, and His people everyday! I would love it if you would continue to pray for me. Thanks for all of your support!
Desiree Johnson. So good to know you through your profile on the blogger. I am also glad to stop by your blog "Costa Rica Gap Year" and the post on it " Update on Life". So good to know how you are using your time of Gap year. I am so glad to know about your love for God and the experiences in Costa Rica are bringing you more closer to the Lord and you are falling more in love with the Lord. I am so encouraged to know this and I am inspired to invite you to Mumbai, India for another GAP year to come and work with us in the slums of Mumbai among poorest of poor to share with them about Jesus Christ and to give them new hope, life and purpose. I am in the Pastoral ministry for last 34yrs in the great city of Mumbai, India a city with great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reachout to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the broken hearted. We also encourage young people as well as adults from the West to come on a short / long term missions trip to work with us in the slums of Mumbai. We would love to have you come with your friends to work with us in near future. I am sure you will have a life changing experience. My email id is : dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede. Looking forward to hear from you very soon.
